Fishing Report - April 27, 2013
Saturday, April 27th, 2013Crappie - The crappie are still on fire…they are being caught trolling in the mouth of the creeks and in the pads…what ever way you prefer to fish for them. Lots of limits being brought in everyday…nice quality crappie. Colors of jigs is bubble gum and acid rain. Jigs heads orange and red.
Bream/Shellcracker - Bream are being caught in all the creeks on crickets, and red worms…lots of nice catches being brought in.
Bass - Several good reports of bass being caught in 3 to 5 feet of water. Spinner baits and zoom worms have been the bait of choice.
Catfish - catfish are still being caught all over the lake with Sonny’s stink bait.
Thanks again to everyone that came out and supported and helped with the Rusty Leverette memorial tournament…had a total of eighteen teams to fish the tournament with lots of nice crappie caught. Below were the top 5 places in the tournament..congratulations to you all…
1st place - Danny Cannon and Gerald Manning - 13lbs. 2oz.
2nd place - Jared Leverette and Jason Leverette - 12lbs. 10oz.
3rd place Tim Fowler and Tim Johns - 12lbs. 8oz.
4th place - Curtis Hobbs and Dave Mitchell - 12lbs. 2oz
5th place - Tillis Dean and Jerry Cain - 11lbs. 13oz.
Big Fish - Gerald Manning and Danny Cannon 1lb. 14 oz.
Crappie season will continue to be good thru the month of May…make your reservations and come on down and catch some of these nice Talquin crappie.
