Crappie - Feb. has been a great month on Lake Talquin…with all the rain and cold weather it still didn’t slow down the crappie…the catch has been great…mainly trolling in the channels…during some of the warmer days a few has been caught in the pads.  Best jig colors ..acid rain, bubblegum, wildcat, blue/black and chartruse…litewire hooks..orange, red and white. The tackle shop has a large variety of jigs and litewire hooks.

Bass - Some nice bass being caught off the ledges with trick worms.

Catfish - Catfish are still being caught all over the lake with Sonny’s Stink bait.

Bream/Shellcracker - No reports.

Crappie - This month has really started off great…good catches of crappie being brought in….several limits with good quality crappie.  Crappie still in the river channels…trolling 12 to 15 feet deep.  Water temp is up to 58 degrees.  Best jig colors…bubble gum, acid rain and blue/black/chartruse and litewire hooks…1/16 orange, red and black using a #4 or #5 piece of lead.

Bass - The last couple of weeks have also been good for the bass fishers…fishing ledges.  The ABA had a tournament on Jan. 18th…with 1st place (Rob Lawhorn) weighing in 21.89lbs and 2nd place (David Boyd) weighing in 21.44lbs.  David also had big fish 8.39lbs.  Congrats to you both.

Catfish - Catfish are still biting good around the stumps with Sonny’s stink bait.

Bream/shellcracker - No reports…
